MISHA EMPORIUM VIC
Located in Melbourne’s luxury retail precinct, the Misha store marked a major milestone for the Australian fashion brand as it transitioned from an exclusively online presence to its first physical flagship. The concept was developed by Italian design studio, with Studio Grayscale appointed as the local design team to re-interpret and internationally designed project, to be suitable locally.
Our role focused on translating the international concept into a buildable, compliant, and visually cohesive space suited to the Australian context. This involved developing detailed documentation and localising every aspect of the design, adapting construction methods, technical details, and finishes to align with Australian codes, material availability, and construction practices.
One of the core challenges was interpreting 3D-rendered design elements into achievable, locally constructed details. Despite the design’s clean and minimalist appearance, the execution demanded high levels of precision and coordination. We worked closely with the shopfitters to resolve detailing and construction issues and managed supplier engagement directly, sourcing and customising multiple rounds of material samples to meet aesthetic and technical expectations.
Collaboration was key. Through regular online meetings, email correspondence, and clear visual communication, we ensured alignment with the client and stakeholders from start to finish.
The result is a refined, high-end retail environment that reflects Misha’s strong contemporary identity, delivered through local expertise and carefully adapted to the Australian context.
